Creative activities are not “extras.” They provide an essential foundation for life, and in the process of sitting with a loved one who is dying, and/or at memorial gatherings, it is often songs, stories, and quiet reflections that carry powerful memories after the person’s death. Creative avenues such as music, movement such as walking, sharing stories, and being still are essential in grief work and in self care for caregivers.
Dr. Elspeth MacEwan, psychiatrist and expressive arts facilitator, will lead this life-giving exploration through clinical examples, guided conversations and easy expressive arts exercises. No artistic nor performing arts experience necessary; all are welcome at this engaging workshop.
