The Supporting Dementia learning series by The Dementia Society of Ottawa & Renfrew County

The Supporting Dementia learning series is for caregivers of persons with dementia. This learning series will provide caregivers with information about symptoms that may accompany the progression of dementia. Caregivers will have the opportunity to learn strategies for support. This learning series will provide caregivers with information, support, and an opportunity to discuss experiences and express their feelings in a safe environment. This learning series uses a positive approach and focuses on maintaining and enhancing caregiver skills and abilities now and for the future. 

Sessions will provide information about: 

• The progression of dementia 
• Communication and behaviour strategies 
• Caregiver resiliency strategies 

The Supporting Dementia learning series occurs over two 2-hour sessions. 

June 2021 Online Sessions: 

• Part 1 – June 3, 2021 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m 
• Part 2 – June 10, 2021, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
