Darren Solomon, Board Member

Darren Solomon is a purpose-driven strategist and change leader. Currently the CEO of the Kitchener Public Library, Darren is focused on improving health and social outcomes for people with diverse needs, backgrounds, and abilities, including at-risk populations. Prior to KPL, Darren was CEO at Richmond Hill Public Library, where he led a successful transformation to revitalize a stagnant library system.

Before joining the public sector, Darren was an executive at Cineplex, where he held several roles including Senior Vice President, Growth & Experience Strategies, and Vice President, Marketing & Creative Strategy. He began his career as a CBC Television reporter and producer. Throughout his career, Darren has generated award-winning and industry-recognized work.

Darren’s lens on caregiving is rooted from his first-hand experience supporting and championing someone who struggles with mental illness. His journey and lived experience has inspired him to improve the wellbeing of other caregivers.
