SUMMARY:Palliative. End-of-Life. - Information session (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Palliative. End-of-Life.  \nThese are scary words\, but with knowledge comes power. \nAt some point in our lives\, we will all be faced with these words\, and many of us will be in a position of caring for someone in these situations. It’s hard. But when we understand what’s happening\, and what to expect\, we can be better prepared. \nDuring this session\, participants will learn about a palliative approach to care and how it differs from end-of-life-care. They will also learn about how to access palliative and end-of-life care services and about resources for those caring for someone living with a life-threatening illness. \n

We’ll look at the cycle of the depression that may keep your loved one stuck. Caregivers and family members will leave with practical tips on how to meet their loved ones where they are and strategies for taking care of themselves. As a CBT therapist with the Royal\, Hayley Masterson will provide insights on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as an evidence-based psychotherapy for treating clinical depression AND as a self-help tool for caregivers.
