SUMMARY:Helping Someone to Move: Hands-on Practice for Caregivers
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a practical and interactive drop-in event designed to provide family caregivers with the basic skills to assist with moving and transferring. Caregivers will also have the opportunity to learn from other caregivers\, and view and test out a variety of assistive devices and mobility equipment. \nDuring this hands-on session\, you will learn proper body mechanics and generalized strategies to prevent injuries while assisting someone with mobility challenges. Our experienced instructors will guide you through a variety of options\, allowing you to practice and refine your skills in a supportive environment. \nPlease note that the instructors are not able to provide medical advice or person-specific consultation. Do not bring the person that you are caring for\, as the instructors are unable to provide person-specific medical advice.\nTime:\nThere are four drop-in times for caregivers to choose from.\n\n9:00-10:00 am\n11:00 -12:00 pm\n12:30-1:30 pm\n2:00 – 3:00 pm
