DESCRIPTION:Do you have a family member or a friend with a mental illness and want to learn more about mental health? This course may be for you. \nKnowledgeable family members\, professionals and individuals with lived mental health experience will speak on topics which include: Bipolar Disorder\, Schizophrenia\, Anxiety\, Depression\, coping with mental illness\, communicating with your loved one\, estate planning\, mental health and the law\, types of treatments\, community services and more. \nPROGRAM GOALS: \n• To reduce family stress by developing coping strategies and familiarity with resources \n• To support family involvement in treatment through knowledge of mental illnesses and the mental health care system \n• To improve communication among families\, health care professionals and related community services providers \nDATES: Every Wednesday evening from Sept 8 to Dec 1\, 2021 TIME: 6:30 to 8:45 pm \nLOCATION: Virtual Registration required: contact Laurel Lamarre: 519 646-6100 x 47440 register early\, seats are limited.
