DESCRIPTION:Join us for a practical and interactive drop-in event designed to provide family caregivers with the basic skills to assist with moving and transferring. Caregivers will also have the opportunity to learn from other caregivers\, and view and test out a variety of assistive devices and mobility equipment. \nDuring this hands-on session\, you will learn proper body mechanics and generalized strategies to prevent injuries while assisting someone with mobility challenges. This session is presented in collaboration with the Advocacy Centre for the Elderly and will be Facilitated by Graham Webb\, Lawyer and Executive Director from the Advocacy Centre for the Elderly. \nPlease note: \nDue to limited capacity\, we would like to request you to register with strong intention of attending. \nParticipants are expected to log-on in time for sessions in which they have registered. Participants who do not log-on within the fifteen (15) minute grace period\, will not be permitted to attend the training. Late participants will be asked to sign up for the next session which fits their schedule.
